What is the Vietnam eVisa?
The Vietnam eVisa is an official electronic travel authorization issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department. It allows eligible foreign nationals to enter Vietnam for tourism, business, or transit purposes. The eVisa is linked electronically to your passport and must be presented at the port of entry.
Important: The Vietnam eVisa does NOT guarantee entry into Vietnam. Final admission is at the discretion of Vietnamese immigration officials.
Who Needs a Vietnam eVisa?
The eVisa is required for:
Citizens of countries not on Vietnam's visa-exempt list
Travelers visiting for tourism, business, or transit

Validity Period
The Vietnam eVisa is valid for up to 90 days from the date of issue. Single-entry costs $25 USD and multiple-entry costs $50 USD (government fees).
Note: The eVisa fee is non-refundable, even if your application is denied or you choose not to travel.
Important Information
You must print your eVisa and present it at the port of entry. A digital copy on your phone may not be accepted.
Apply at least 3 business days before your travel date to allow sufficient processing time.
Your eVisa is only valid for the specific entry and exit points listed on the eVisa document.
Each traveler must have their own individual eVisa, including children.

Currently, the Vietnam eVisa cannot be extended. You would need to apply for a new eVisa or a different visa type.

Do I need to print the eVisa?
Yes, you must print your eVisa and present it at the port of entry alongside your passport.
What if my eVisa application is rejected?
You will be notified by email. You may reapply with corrected information or visit a Vietnamese embassy or consulate.
Is the eVisa the same as a visa on arrival?
No. The eVisa is obtained before travel and does not require additional processing at the airport. Visa on arrival requires a prior approval letter.
